Photo Book Ideas: An Autumn Book

Photo Book Ideas: An Autumn Book

Get Your Photographs:

When your goal is to put a photo book together, your fist goal should be, of course, to gather a lot of photographs together. Try to get in the habit of taking your camera with you wherever you go, because you never know when a quintessential fall moment will appear. Those ragamuffins selling pumpkins in from of the store, squinting in the crisp autumn sun? The tree at the park whose leaves have suddenly exploded into bright orange? Those crazy Halloween costumes that you want to remember forever? These are the moments that you want to be prepared for. You will find that the more you have your camera on you and at the ready, the more you begin to have the mindset of a photographer. In other words, the more you look, the more you’ll see.

When you are taking your photos, don’t simply take one and move on. The advent of digital photography has enabled all of us to snap away without fear that we are wasting any film. The more shots you take the better chance you have of getting a great one where the subject, the lighting, and the composition all come together.

Get Some Words Too:

Just as you take your camera with you everywhere, you should also get in the habit of keeping a small notebook in your pocket. Photo books work great with bits of text interspersed, whether they come in the form of captions or in small essays or quotes. If you are a writer at all you will relish this part of the project. If not, you can look around for quotes that have to do with autumn, have some friends or family members contribute some thoughts about the photos they are in, or simply stick to captions and short explanations.

Arranging and Design:

If you do not have Photoshop, take a look around for a similar program so you can do at least some basic photo editing. You can do a lot of great things with photos with such simple tricks as cropping and adjusting the brightness and contrast. Of course, the better you are at these type of programs the more you can do. It might be worth your while to look around online for a tutorial if you have the time and inclination.

As far as layout, there are free templates available online if you don’t have access to programs like PageMaker or Indesign. Whichever route you choose to go, give some consideration to the flow of your book. Do you want it to be chronological or more thematic? Let your creativity be your guide, and be sure to use some blocks of text to keep things flowing along and to provide context if necessary.

Printing and Binding:

Use the best color printing method that you can get your hands on. When it comes to binding, you will either want to see what your local print shop has to offer as far as hardcover options, send it all away somewhere, or pick up your own binding machine. These machines can be had for remarkably little money, are dead simple to use, and offer the speed and flexibility to make whatever books you want to make whenever you want to make them.

If you are interested in more information about how the right Thermal Binding Systems can help you create a great photo book, you might want to visit MyBinding.com. They offer a great price on these machines and they even offer Free Shipping on orders over. Plus, they carry a full line of Thermal Binding Supplies, in many colors and sizes. Check it out today!

Halloween Decoration Ideas – Give Your Home the Halloween Touch!

Halloween story says that on night of October 31, Celts celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that ghosts of dead returned to earth. To beat the drum of this event, Druids built huge sacred bonfires where people gathered to burn animals and crops as sacrifices to Celtic deities. Sounds very horrific. But Halloween today is celebrated as a fun holiday. A holiday that provides opportunity to be someone else.

Halloween is a great time to have fun with kids, family and friends. Every year, people start planning months ahead for Halloween decoration, Halloween shopping, Halloween costumes and Halloween parties. Choosing a Halloween costume is always a daunting task as there are various options to choose from. But Halloween decorations can be even harder than that!

One can go for decorating home, office space, car, dorm room just about anywhere. You can find huge range of Halloween themed door bells, wall clocks, candle holders, door knockers and table displays at many online and in-stores. List for Halloween decoration items is long and endless! Some things can be bought from stores and some are handcrafts that can be made at home. Setting mood for Halloween has never been so fun!

Here are few ideas to help get started on decorating for Halloween:

Halloween Decoration for Living Room:
Decorate main rooms with Jack-o-lanterns made from anything such as pumpkins, apples, squashes and cucumbers etc. Hang them somewhere in room or place on tables, door and windows, stands and mantles. Use autumn leaves, green branches, and ears of corn, tomatoes, and apples and drape room with red and yellow scrim & cheese cloth. Have fire going in fireplace.

Halloween Decoration for Home Entrance:
Entrance way should be in total darkness except light coming from Jack-o-lanterns on tables or hangings on doors & ceilings. Entrance should be draped in black and spooky way. One can create spider web near entrance and decorate it with artificial spiders. Spooky candles can be placed at the door entrance for a dramatic look.

Halloween Decoration for Outdoors:
The lawn in front of house should be decorated with lighted Jack-o-lanterns each with different eyes, mouth, and nose. These lanterns should be as weird as possible. Drape black Jack-o’-lantern above front door and hang skull and crossbones in center over the door. Many spooky Halloween garden decor items are available at stores like Sears, Target, Halloween Mart and Wrapables.

Everything has changed in 100 years, but that essence of great Halloween decorating has remained almost same as in olden times… Have fun on Halloween nights dressed in Halloween costumes!!

Sears coupons, Target coupons and Halloween Mart coupons will help you save additional money while placing an online order for various Halloween decorative items.

Ensure a Fun-Filled Family Autumn with Passport to Fun’s Great, Budget-Savvy Ideas

Now that summer has come and gone, plenty of folks are looking for new ideas to have a great time in autumn. Naturally, not every family has the funds to take off on a deluxe jaunt to the tropics. Gratefully, Passport to Fun extends some awesome tips for fall fun that won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

Apple orchards. Apple-picking is a fun activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The enchantment of picking these gorgeous gems and then munching on them or turning them into nice, warm apple pies is indescribable. Lots of farms organize fun fall festivities in the fields, like corn labyrinths, which also serve as a fun place to meet other families.

Pumpkin patches. Fall and pumpkin-carving seem to go together. With Halloween just around the corner, the delight of cutting up a pumpkin increases manifold. Help your children select a nice, ripe, orange pumpkin, and have fun carving it into something that you’ll want to exhibit this fall.

Leafy fun. Autumn is when the leaves begin dropping and stacking up everywhere. Some parks compile these leaves and lump them into a nice, high pile. Jumping in these leaves is a good deal of fun and beats almost any jungle gym. Passport to Fun does, however, indicate that adult supervision is mandatory when kids are having fun in the leafy piles, since there can be bugs and other dangerous objects lurking in the leaves. Collecting various kinds of leaves and decorating them is also a nice pastime for the fall season. You can even create a montage of different leaves from your area and find out their scientific names as well.

Fairs. There are tons of fall carnivals that are a joy to attend. Wandering about with a beverage in hand and looking at the items on sale is a lot of fun, even if you don’t buy something new. Unique creations, kids’ games, and many diverse snacks can add up to a fun day. Going to a fair also allows the little ones to have a little independence while the parents loosen up and hang out with other adults. Fairs are definitely an exciting aspect of the fall season.

By borrowing these ideas from Passport to Fun, you can ensure that your autumn is filled with fun pastimes and activities that don’t cost too much.

Halloween Costume Ideas – Ideas for Kids, Toddler, Adult Halloween Costumes

Halloween 2010 is almost here and it is the perfect time for folks of all ages to indulge in pop culture fantasy. Now it’s time to make any last minute Halloween costume choices and decide what pumpkin carving patterns you want to use. Since Halloween is on Sunday this year, it will be great for kids and adults alike! We will all have the entire weekend to decorate our homes, host or go to Halloween parties, and to thrill and chill Trick or Treater’s on Sunday night.

What a great Halloween we will all have this year. Be sure to stop by Papatek prepared for your Halloween and help you enjoy Halloween as much as we do! Providing costumes ideas for the physically challenged, making your own Halloween costume, Halloween decorations for kids, toddlers, adults, couples or groups. Happy Halloween and other Halloween information we provide on Papatek.com!

You don’t have to be a kid to dress up in a spectacular costume. Halloween is a holiday that brings out the child in everyone. According to the National Retail Federation, 4 out of 10 Americans (40.1%) will be dressing up this Halloween season.  This is great news for retailers, with Americans spending around each for their costumes. What are the options for costume ideas this Halloween?  The choices are endless.

Here are some timely celebrity costume ideas that can be both humorous and scary, and promise to be a lot of fun for your Halloween celebration, like Twilight Character, Lady Gaga, etc. The popularity of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight novels and the release of movies such as New Moon and Eclipse will undoubtedly produce a surge of vampires and werewolves this Halloween season. Lady Gaga as the musical entertainer dresses up like Halloween on a daily basis, so it should not be difficult to emulate her style for just one night during the year. There are loads of options for dressing up like Lady Gaga.

In addition, you can make your own costume for cheap by using items you already have around the house. With a small amount of creativity, just an iota of craftsmanship, and a few easily obtainable items, it’s simple to put together a costume that will steal the show. For instance, you find a rectangular box large enough to wear over your body and paint it black and decorate the front with buttons, coin slot, etc.

If you plan on building a graveyard for Halloween, dig a shallow grave directly in front of one of the tombstones and lay a skeleton down in it. Add some dirt over and around the skeleton so that he is about fifty to seventy percent exposed. Now, scatter some dried leaves around the grave. In fact, a homemade Halloween costume not only helps you pinch pennies, but it ensures that your look will be totally unique and truly memorable!

Even if your toddler’s too young to go trick-or-treating, you can still have fun celebrating Halloween together. Other couples may have children under 14 months old. And you can have everyone over for a Halloween party. Solid color turtlenecks and sweat pants are an easy and comfortable costume starter for kids. Add hats, wigs, capes, wings, face paint etc. When you select a Halloween costume for your child, you had better choose a costume that won’t fall apart before the night’s festivities are over. If the costume is elaborate, dress your child in simple clothing underneath.

If you’re set on buying a costume, you can still pinch pennies. Look for discounts and shop around and buy early. Most costumes are available at more than one store. That will give you the best chance at a good price, and will leave you time to make an exchange in case there is a problem.

Well, all the ideas that’s fit to fright! Best of all, Papatek with different laptop accessory products available at the click of your mouse, which help you decide which fun character you want to dress up as on this Halloween.

Halloween Face Painting Tips And Halloween Fancy Dress Ideas – Make Your Halloween Party Stand Out

Halloween Face Painting Tips And Halloween Fancy Dress Ideas – Make Your Halloween Party Stand Out

With Halloween just around the corner, it’s time to start preparing for Halloween party of the year that’s second only to New Year. Is there a dark side to you dying to burst out? A naughty, mischievous goblin or a spooky ghoul lying in wait perhaps? It is a fabulous event that everyone can join in. Even your perfect little angel could end up being your worst nightmare as they get into character! Here are some great Halloween face painting tips to help set the scene at your party.

HALLOWEEN MAKE-UP IDEAS: These will help bring out the monster in your children!

With the best intention, looking hurt is very popular! Blood is the must-have look during Halloween so, if you want to appear as though you’ve been attacked by the local crazy guy or in a fight with a chainsaw, add modelling wax to your face and create the illusion of deep wounds and gashes.

Colour the edges of these fake wounds with red or purple. Halloween face painting tip: Use more purple the older you want to look. Add trails of blood drooling out of the wound and down your shirt. There are all manner of gigantic plastic axes, arrows and knives you can use and all you need to do for the finishing touches is just add the fake blood to the edges of all the wounds and gashes. Using these clever Halloween face painting tips will help ensure you get the right look.

One of the most popular costumes of all time is the Vampire! You can always count on the Count to be popular with both the male child and adult every Halloween! Make-up is easy and a must! Try to blacken your hair and smooth it flat to the head, forming it into a point at the front.

Using a sponge rather than a brush, paint all the face white. For the best effects, let that coat dry and then add another coat. Put plenty on as you want it as white as possible. For real effects, add dark eyeliner on the edges of the eyes – best to let the wife or girlfriend do it for safety! – Halloween Face Painting Tips: and, if you feel inclined, then how about some black contact lenses. You would be amazed at the effect that will create.

Now we need some fangs with blood on the edges and dripping slightly from the corners of the mouth. Great fangs can be acquired to add that super touch. Get the ones with blood already on them and you know your bloody look will stay put for the night.

Boys love being animals whether it be werewolves, dogs or lions and tigers, and pouncing on unsuspecting victims is all part of the fun. For werewolves, you will need the modelling wax; try to make those lines on the forehead stand out, while on the cheeks make it seem as though you are growing a snout.

HALLOWEEN FACE PAINTING TIPS:

PAINTING WHISKERS: Try using a small, fine pointed brush, working outwards across the cheeks for a whisker effect. For any fine lines you may be painting, you will find that liquid paints will work the best.

FUR EFFECT: When trying to create a fur effect, use a medium-sized brush, working from the centre outwards. That way the edges taper off. Have a go on paper or a face painting practice pad first until you get to grips with the motion needed for your required effect.

ALIENS: Get creative with the alien look. For both boys and girls, you can have so much fun with this. Faces all painted silver or gold, multi-coloured eye shadows and plenty of glitter for the girls is a must with this look. How far you go with your alien look will be as good as your creativity. There is no limit.

HALLOWEEN MAKE-UP KIT: Using these Halloween Face Painting Tips will help set the perfect scene for your party but a good idea would be to put together a little Halloween makeup kit in advance so that you have everything you need to hand. Make sure you have plenty of different shades of vivid red lipstick, red face paint and masses of fake blood. Halloween Face Painting Tips: You can make your own fake blood by mixing some red food colouring with sugar syrup. You need plenty of black everything, face paint, eyeshadow (get that from sister or wife) and black eyeliner. Prepare some hypoallergenic modelling wax and you’re ready to go!

One of the best parts of Halloween is the Trick or Treating and, for the children, possibly the most important part of their evening. But would Halloween be anything at all without the costumes? Donning the outfit is when you suddenly become your chosen character for the night, be it a Wicked Witch, Gothic Ghoul, Cuddly Teddy or simply a sexy and gorgeous Fairy Princess.

HALLOWEEN FANCY DRESS FOR THE GIRLS: – Super witches costumes look terrific with green face paint, black lips or very deep red for a splash of colour and don’t forget the pointed slippers. Then there is the gothic princess look, Tinkerbell and vampires. Again, for that extra special magic, add the face paint to complete a simply stunning outfit. A splash of glitter dabbed high on the cheekbones just finishes it off. As always, there’s the everlasting cute look with such all-time favourites as Tinkerbell, princesses, Cinderella, Snow White and all manner of other Disney characters.

HALLOWEEN FANCY DRESS FOR THE BOYS: – There are, of course, the much-loved traditional superhero costumes and, with the release of another Toy Story movie, we have Buzz and his friends being firm favourites in the fancy dress stakes along with Transformers,  Spiderman, Batman, Robin and the Star Wars characters. Harry Potter is up there with Voldemort costumes and face mask, and not forgetting all the extras like Harry’s scarf, glasses and wand, etc for the would-be magicians nor that wonderfully wizardly Professor Dumbledore with his fabulously long beard. For those that wish for the more darker costume, there are always plenty of choices with the classic vampire, ghoul, skeleton, zombie, werewolf,  mummy, Dracula, Devil and dark messenger to name a few.

HALLOWEEN FANCY DRESS FOR THE TODDLERS: – It does not matter what you put your little darlings in as they will receive the inevitable aaaahs all night. Cute is strawberry shortcake, baby bee bunting, lady bug tutu, sugar plum fairy, angel and pretty princess and pumpkin princess. Lots of animal costumes will be favoured by many and there are some terrific Lil Devil and Vampire costumes even for the smallest child.

HALLOWEEN FANCY DRESS FOR THE LADIES: – Well, girls, there are lots on offer here so, if it’s hot ‘n‘ sexy you’re after, you will find plenty of naughty but nice outfits to choose from. Sexy Betty Rubble, naughty nun, sexy nurse, prisoner of love, luscious lady bug, dazzling devil, Playboy Bo Peep and Playboy wicked fairy are but a few on the agenda. For a more traditional costume, there are mystic Medusa, zombie prom queen, gothic sorceress, wicked dark fairy and the ever-popular nurse, police lady, cowgirl, Red Riding Hood and Alice in Gothland. Add the wigs, face make-up and glitter and you are dressed to kill.

HALLOWEEN FANCY DRESS FOR THE GENTS: – Guys can be a bit funny about dressing up so, for those that want easy-to-wear costumes, no problem. How about the simple gambling man, sailor, cowboy, pirate, etc? Add the hats, guns and moustache and you’re away. For those that don’t mind dressing up, there’s plenty to go at with the ever-popular Dracula, ghastly ghoul, Freddie and zombie to get your teeth into. Fancy being funny? Then how about Fred Flintstone, Barney Rubble, the Hulk or Shrek. If you want to be charming, then be Prince Charming or an ever-suave nobleman or Zorro. Just go for it.

Corporation Halloween Gift Ideas Is More than Jubilant Win-Win

For all we know, Halloween is a festive holiday celebrated on the night of October 31. It is a fun holiday when children will dress in their favorite costumes and go out trick-or-treating for candies. But the point to note is that Halloween is by no means only patent for kids. You know holidays present a special opportunity for companies to recognize employees and all of the hard work, effort and time they put forth for the corporation and then Halloween is no exception. Giving employees a little present will make them feel special and step up their sense of achievement as well as their overwhelming power to forge ahead to the hilt. In this regard, Halloween Gift Ideas
for corporations make a no small difference and come into play as regards enhancing enterprise cohesion. And more importantly, the Halloween gift ideas stand for a jubilant win-win.

Needless to say, Halloween gift ideas 2010 on the part of companies, like Halloween Masks Idea
, come as a revelation and fare in a grand style. Actually numerous Halloween gift ideas, from gift cards to edible treats, have been adopted as corporate Halloween gifts.

Some companies offer Halloween gift baskets or gourmet food selections, ranging from Halloween treats such as caramel popcorn and decorated sugar cookies to candy corn and gourmet caramel apples. Or, in lieu of actually purchasing baskets for each employee, the company could gift a gourmet food store gift certificate so that employees can purchase things they would enjoy. Indeed this Halloween gift idea kick ass.

The company can give free tickets to employees for a community Halloween event, such as a haunted house or Halloween party. This Halloween gift idea would be especially fitting for employees who have families with young children. Tickets to events can be expensive, so employees would welcome the chance to attend an event for free.

Another possible corporate Halloween gift idea is to present employees with gift certificates to a local Halloween costume shop. That way, families (especially with young children) can pick out their Halloween costumes at little or no cost to them. Also, they could choose a costume to wear to the company’s Halloween party, if there is one.

Anyway, Halloween’s eve is one of individual occasions when the kitchen area can get active and kids flip out playing dazzling awesome Halloween Toys
. Mom will start rolling out fudge as well as cookies or a few more other tasty dinners that trick or-treaters may never observe. That means preparing food implements, aprons and even more will make great gifts during this holidays. But there is incremental happiness on the very big day for employees’ part after receiving the encouraging and intimate Halloween gifts from their companies. In this sense, Halloween gift ideas signal more significance and charge. That is really wonderful and cool.
